2025 MEMORIAL DAY EVENT GUIDE

Memorial Day is a time to honor those who died serving in the U.S. military. Below is a list of Memorial Day ceremonies, parades, and events across the Greater Dayton area, Southwest Ohio, and nearby Indiana locations, including Beavercreek, Oxford, Richmond, and more. From solemn wreath-layings to community celebrations, these events offer ways to reflect and connect.

 

BEAVERCREEK MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
Veterans Memorial Park, 1911 N Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH
May 26, 2025 | 2pm – 3pm
This event is dedicated to commemorating the honorable men and women who lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Limited bleacher seating will be available, so guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

 

FOURTH ANNUAL MILITARY HISTORY MUSTER
506 E Xenia Dr, Fairborn, OH
May 24–25, 2025 | 9am – 5pm
Celebrates Memorial Day with authentic military vehicles, equipment, on-site historians, and a four-person equestrian team, hosted by the Miami Valley Military History Museum.

 

XENIA MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
Woodland Cemetery, 281 Dayton Ave, Xenia, OH
May 26, 2025 | 10am – 11am
A tribute to fallen heroes with a wreath-laying, guest speakers, and a moment of silence, hosted by local veterans’ organizations.

 

YOUNG’S DAIRY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Join Young’s Dairy for a weekend of events. Carnival Rides will be available in the parking lot in front of our Dairy Store during Memorial Day Weekend.

 

CENTERVILLE MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY

Honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice with color guard presentations, remarks from Mayor Brooks Compton, and a keynote by Col. Marqus D. Randall.

 

FRANKLIN JIM MEARS MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
Main St, Franklin, OH
May 26, 2025 | 10am – 11:30am
Named after former mayor and veteran Jim Mears, this parade welcomes Vietnam veterans and families to honor the war’s 50th anniversary.

 

HUBER HEIGHTS MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY

May 26, 2025 | 4pm – 5pm
A wreath-laying ceremony hosted by the Huber Heights Military and Veterans Commission, honoring fallen service members.

 

CARILLON HISTORICAL PARK HERITAGE DAY

Honors Dayton and U.S. history with special activities, costumed actors, and live music from the Carillon Park Concert Band.

 

CALVARY CEMETERY MEMORIAL WEEKEND MASS
1625 Calvary Dr, Dayton, OH
May 25, 2025 | 11am – 12pm
A special Memorial Day mass led by Rev. Gene Contadino, with assistance from the Knights of Columbus and Boy Scouts of America Troop 516.

 

DAYTON NATIONAL CEMETERY MEMORIAL DAY EVENT

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hosts a ceremony at Dayton National Cemetery to honor fallen service members. More details forthcoming.

 

KETTERING MEMORIAL DAY 5K
2900 Glengarry Dr, Kettering, OH
May 26, 2025 | 8:30am – 10am
Runners receive a $10 gift card to Runners Plus, a pancake breakfast, and access to a recovery station. Includes a free 400-meter mini march for kids eight and younger.

 

GERMANTOWN MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE
Veterans Memorial Park, 190 W Warren St, Germantown, OH
May 26, 2025 | 10am – 11:30am
Features speakers including Mayor Terry Johnson, Pastor Tim Rudd, and U.S. Army veteran David Shortt, with music by the Valley View Spartan Marching Band, followed by a walk to Germantown Union Cemetery.

 

ROCKY’S RUN FOR FREEDOM
Veterans Memorial Park, 426 E Central Ave, Miamisburg, OH
May 24, 2025 | 9am – 10:30am
A 1.5-mile run named after Marine Cpl. Paul W. Zanowick II, raising funds for Veterans Memorial Park, Blue Skies for Good Guys and Gals Warrior Foundation, and Uriah’s Trust. Early registration offers a discount.

 

MIAMISBURG MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION
Various Locations, Miamisburg, OH
May 26, 2025 | 8:45am – 1pm
Includes ceremonies at Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery (1 N Ninth St, 8:45am), Hillgrove Union Cemetery (1002 E Central Ave, 9:15am), Highland Memorial Cemetery (723 Upper Miamisburg Rd, 9:40am), and Linden Avenue Bridge (10:30am), followed by a parade at 11am from Riverfront Park and refreshments at Veterans Memorial Park (426 E Central Ave).

 

MIDDLETOWN MEMORIAL DAY PARADE AND CEREMONY
Smith Park, 500-546 Tytus Ave, Middletown, OH
May 26, 2025 | 10am – 1pm
The parade starts at Smith Park, follows Verity Parkway to Woodside Cemetery, where a ceremony honors fallen service members with speeches and music.

 

FAIRFIELD MEMORIAL DAY PARADE AND CEREMONY
Route begins at Express Scripts and Hicks Blvd, Fairfield, OH
May 26, 2025 | 10am
The Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony features veterans groups, military units, the Fairfield High School Marching Band, community groups and organizations, the Fairfield Police Department, and Fairfield Fire and Paramedic units.

 

TRENTON MEMORIAL DAY VFW EVENT
Baker School, Trenton, OH
May 24, 2025 | 10am
A community parade featuring veterans’ groups and local organizations, followed by a brief ceremony at Elk Creek Cemetery to honor the fallen.

 

BUTLER COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY PARADE AND CEREMONY
Soldiers, Sailors and Pioneers Monument, 1 S Monument Ave, Hamilton, OH
May 26, 2025 | 9:30am – 12pm
Begins with a wreath-laying at 9:30am, followed by a parade at 10am on Monument Avenue, ending with a ceremony in Greenwood Cemetery’s Grand Army of the Republic section.

 

WEST CHESTER MEMORIAL DAY PARADE
9113 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, OH
May 27, 2025 | 10am – 12pm
Memorial Day ceremonies in West Chester are organized each year by local veterans groups VFW Post 7696 and American Legion Post 681.On Monday, a morning Memorial Day Parade makes its way down Cincinnati-Dayton Road through the historic Olde West Chester business district for a special remembrance ceremony.

 

SPRINGFIELD MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

A parade starting at Veterans Park Amphitheater, honoring those who died in service with community participation and tributes.

 

PIKE TWP./NORTH HAMPTON MEMORIAL DAY
South Main St, North Hampton, OH
May 24, 2025 | 7am – 4pm
Kicks off with a North Hampton Lion’s Club Breakfast (7-11am) at 104 E Clark St, followed by a parade at 3pm and a memorial service at Sturgeon Park.

 

UNION TWP. MEMORIAL DAY RIDE AND CEREMONY
4960 S Davis, West Milton, OH
May 26, 2025 | 8am – 12pm
The Hometown Heroes Motorcycle Association hosts a ride starting at 8:45am, followed by a ceremony at 11:30am at Riverside Cemetery, off Cemetery Rd.

 

HONORING HEROES: THE 10TH ANNUAL FIELD OF MEMORIES CELEBRATION

KINGS ISLAND MILITARY DAYS
