Hidden Gems in Richmond Indiana

Looking for things to do in Richmond?

Richmond, Indiana is a small city of about 40,000 people in east-central Indiana. It is regarded as the “Gateway of East Central Indiana” due to its proximity to two major metropolitan areas in the neighboring state of Ohio (Dayton and Cincinnati). Though it may seem like a slower-moving town, Richmond has a very lively and active community thanks largely to the following areas and things to do!

The Depot District:

One of the more recent “up and coming” areas of Richmond, you can find anything from furniture stores (Richmond Furniture Gallery), coffee (Roscoe’s Coffee Bar and Tap Room), to ice cream shops like Ullery’s and a ton of restaurants, including my personal favorite Firehouse Blues and BBQ.

Glen Miller Park:

Glen Miller Park was named after Colonel John Ford Miller who was a railroad executive during the late 1860s.

Richmond Civic Theatre:

Opened in the 1940s, the Richmond Civic Theatre has been home to many different shows throughout the years. They regularly host plays and musicals.

Richmond Historic District:

Located in downtown Richmond, you can see things like the Historic Railway station as well as New Boswell Brewery and some other really cool food options.

Richmond Indiana may seem like any other midwestern city at first glance, but if you spend time there, you can find the depth of community and the nightlife scene to be welcoming and fun!
